Amanda

Animal Care Attendant

I always felt a desire to be around animals from a very young age. I originally wanted to work with horses, as I rode for many years, but this was a very competitive field to work in, so I decided I wanted to work with smaller animals. I went to Sheridan College in the animal care program and graduated in June 2011. I went to college for veterinary assisting and ended up doing my placement at McLean Animal Hospital as part of the program. I officially started working at the clinic in July 2011, after I graduated. I enjoy working with and helping the animals who are in a hospital and not well. Helping them feel more comfortable, and getting them better. I love being around dogs and cats every day. Whatever else is going on in life, I can always count on a dog or cat to put a smile on my face. I love working with everyone in the clinic. Fun fact about myself is that I love watching and following competitive ice dance! My favourite ice dancers are Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir! My first pet was a rabbit named Cinnamon.
