Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to work in the veterinary field. One of my favourite books when I was 7-years-old, was a dog breed encyclopedia! I applied to a veterinary technician program right out of high school and graduated from Ridgetown College in 2002. I joined the McLean Animal Hospital team in the summer of 2017. My favourite areas of veterinary medicine are dentistry and animal behaviour. My first pet was a Scottish Terrier named Alex. My favourite part about my job is that I love being able to make a difference in the lives of the animals we help, and the lives of their pet parents. Also that each day is different; on any given day I can spend my time educating clients, taking blood, assisting in surgery, performing a dental cleaning, taking x-rays. You are never bored as a registered veterinary assistant! My favourite thing about McLean Animal Hospital is the staff that work here, we treat each other as family and work together as a great team. Also, since the clinic has been operating for so long, it is always nice to hear from clients that we have served several generations of their families. That loyalty from our clients is very special to us. I have a dog named Nelly Belly who comes to work with me every day.
